A Break from Chemistry

I sit in a corner of Paul Meek Library with my Chemistry study guide, past Chemistry homeworks, an empty take-out box and a bottle of green tea spread out on the table before me. I look up and see my friend talking on the phone..totally being a great study partner.

I would rather be...

Sitting at Surjio's watching the night activity of Lake Victoria with my journal, Bible and a cup of African Tea sitting before me. I look up and see the workers cleaning up the porch, the faint porch light casting shadows across the beautiful lawn.

But then I come back to reality...

And I'm right back in Paul Meek trying to comprehend why I have to know the names of all the polyatomic ions.

Have you ever wanted something so bad it drove you crazy until you got it? Have you ever wanted something so bad you could taste it (an ice cream cone in the summer), feel it (a hug from a friend), hear it (the waves at the beach) or somethings see it (the light at the end of the tunnel a.k.a. Spring Break for this college student)?

Have you ever felt this way about heaven? I can't possible begin to imagine all that heaven will hold. Streets of gold? Large mansions? Huge fields with horses running free? Baby goat kids bouncing around a huge barn? (Wait, that's what happening across the street at the barn. Focus Sarah!)

What do you think heaven will look like?

According to the Bible, "...What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived" the things God has prepared for those who love him." ( 1 Corinthians 2:9)

As many people know, I am a huge fan of the movie Pitch Perfect. In the past two months I have watched this movie more than forty times. I can have an entire conversation in quotes from this movie and I also can do a few of the dance moves from the performance scenes. I have even had dreams about Pitch Perfect. I know, I'm obsessed.

Do you have something you absolutely love? God does. It's you.

Before you were a sparkle in you're daddy's eye, you were the sparkle in Your Father's eye. God knew what He was doing when He created you and knew that the moment He sent you to Earth, it was the perfect time for you to begin your journey.

One of  my favorite sayings is "If God had a fridge, your picture would be on it." He sees your picture every day and loves you just as much as He loved you yesterday and just as much as He will love you tomorrow. Even when you don't love yourself (especially after eating that second cookie...), God loves you.

So I challenge you to love like God loves you. Sometimes, the love you show towards others, inspires others and starts a chain of love.

"Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God." (1 John 4:7)

This is for Caryce :D
