But that's not the point of this post.
The point of this post is this picture...
What do you see what you see when you look at this picture?
- A runner?
- Someone who just finished a half marathon?
- A medal?
- "Unmatched"?
Here's what I see:
- My hair is a mess.
- The tag of my headband is sticking out because it came off while I was running and I put it back on backwards.
- Pale legs...you need sunglasses to look at them.
- I should be standing straighter.
- I should have my feet together...like in the Pride Drill "Feet! Together!"
- I need a shower so bad I can smell myself in this picture. (No scratch n' sniff please)
Here's what God sees:
- Perfection.
- His daughter.
- His Masterpiece.
Have you ever seen a masterpiece? While I was in Washington D.C. for the half marathon, my friend and one of her coworkers took me to an exhibit at The Smithsonian's Hirshhorn Museum. The exhibit was Yayoi Kusama: Infinity Mirrors (https://hirshhorn.si.edu/kusama/). The artist worked for years on some of these pieces and not a detail was left out.
God did the EXACT same when He was creating YOU!
Psalm 139 is the perfect reminder of this. One of my friends and I send this verse to each other as a reminder of how much God loves us and how much we should love ourselves.
"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well."
No matter how you see yourself, when God looks at you He sees His child, His creation, His masterpiece.
And this makes me stand in awe of His glory.
